In the offseason, she rehabilitated her speed and strength in preparation for the 2022 season. She had undergone an ankle injection before training camp began and felt she was ready to play. She wasn't an rookie and was still getting to know her teammates.
Liberty is led by Kelsey Plum in assists per games
After an impressive season last season Kelsey Plum has been poised to lead Liberty assists per game. To lead the team, the 5-foot-8 guard averaged 5.4 assists per match. It's not hard to see her impressive stats, as she leads league with 19.6 points per match. In fact, she is tied for the league lead in assists with Alyssa Thomas. Plum was the first player to appear in the WNBA All-Star Game. She earned MVP honors, and she set a new record with 12 threes.
Parker's injury history
In his rookie season, the Miami Dolphins drafted wide receiver DeVante Parker with the 14th overall pick. After injuring his right foot while practicing, he was unable to play for the Dolphins the first half. Parker was hospitalized for the repair of his foot and missed seven more games. His injury history became a significant issue at the beginning of Parker's NFL career. Parker tore the scar tissue on his left foot from surgery, and missed three preseason games.
Standings of the WNBA
It's never too far away to start looking at WNBA standings. The playoffs begin on Aug. 17 and feature six teams. The Chicago Sky Aces (and the Las Vegas Aces) have already secured their first two seeds. This leaves Dream, Mystics, Sun and Mystics in contention for the fourth and fifth seeds. There are also a few other teams in the mix such as the New York Liberty and Dallas Wings.
Ionescu's triple-double
Ionescu's triple double was a remarkable feat for the WNBA. In the 116 to 98 victory over Las Vegas Aces, she scored 31 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and gave out 10 assists. While her triple-double is impressive on its own, the fact that she didn't turn the ball over makes it even more incredible. Ionescu is the league's first player to achieve a triple-double.
