The United States women’s National Team (USWNT), is a strong team that includes talented young players. Megan Rapinoe (and Taryn) Torres (and Julie Moultrie), Jaedynshaw (and Megan Rapinoe) are just a few of the talented young players. These players can help the USWNT progress to the quarterfinals. Their experience and potential are not as great as their colleagues.

Taryn Torres

Torres' recent appointment to the U.S. Women's National Team was a major step forward in her career. The 18-year-old forward is a versatile player with an impressive shot and great work rate. She has been in three league games as well as four Challenge Cup matches. She was selected as a 2021 draft pick by Gotham FC but decided to complete her college career at the University of Virginia. During her college career she received four All-ACC honors. She was also part of the U-20 squad that competed at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Jene Baclawski, former technical director for South Texas Youth Soccer Association will be Torres' coach. Baclawski serves as the Visa SheBelieves Cup MVP selection board.

Torres scored the opening goal for the U.S. Women's National Team against Nicaragua last week, and the goal was an important one for the U.S. soccer program. In the 2-0 win over Nicaragua, Torres scored the second goal for U.S. women.

Julie Moultrie

Olivia Moultrie has been added to the US Women's Youth National Team roster. In 2022 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup she will be competing in Costa Rica. Last month, Moultrie became the youngest player to score a goal in the NWSL. During the 2022 season, she's played in eight games for Thorns FC, contributing two goals and two assists.

U-20 WYNT player have proven valuable to the U.S. team. In fact, they won the last edition in the tournament with a 44-1 goal differential. They didn't concede until they reached the championship game. Mia Fishel won Golden Ball for best player. The team also included three more international players. Brianna Pinto and Talia DellaPeruta each scored at least three goals.

Jaedyn Shaw

Jaedyn has had a significant impact on the USWNT U20 team. While in France, she scored 2 goals in 3 matches. She is expected join the U20 World Cup roster. She joined the San Diego Wave recently and will join Alex Morgan (and Abby Dahlkemper) as teammates. She will be working under the guidance of former USWNT coach Jill Ellis.


Jaedynshaw, a forward, was named to the U-20 women's national team roster. The team includes three youth club players, including Shaw from Washington Spirit of National Women's Soccer League. Olivia Moultritrie is a professional midfielder.

Megan Rapinoe

Megan Rapinoe is out with injury from the United States Women’s National Team. She has 96 caps. The forward sustained the injury while training at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California. Rapinoe has since been home and will continue with her rehabilitation. The USWNT will face France on February 8, and England on February 13.

Rapinoe is the USWNT's face and has been key to their recent success. She grew up playing volleyball with her older brother and twin sister in Redding. She has provided big moments for the United States in major moments, including in the World Cup in 2013. In that year's 3-2 win over Nigeria, she scored her winning goal.

United States Women’s National Team

The United States Women's National Team 20 is a soccer team for young girls in the United States. It is run by U.S. soccer and is made up talented female soccer players across the country. This team has participated in numerous international tournaments and won many soccer tournaments.

Sunday marks the beginning of the U-20 World Cup. The USA will face the Netherlands. The broadcast will be on FS1. Wednesday will see a match between Japan, USA, and Canada. Both teams have won one game apiece, but will be looking for a better result this time around.
