Rankings for Women in UFC: Three Updates This Week

There are three changes in the women's ufc rankings this week, including an eight-spot jump for Jessica Eye to the top spot at women's flyweight. Nina Ansaroff rises two spots to number 2, featherweight. Sergei Pavlovich has moved two places to number five.

Eye's victory at UFC 238 made her number one in women's flyweight. Her victory over Joanne Calderwood, a veteran fighter, was the main reason she rose to number 1. She spoke with the media backstage after the fight and explained why she believed she should be number one. She feels like she is a top contender at weight 125. In her last four fights, she has taken down four opponents.

Nina Ansaroff was ranked second at women’s featherweight, moving up two places

Sergei Pavlovich moves up a couple of spots to number five

Sergei Pavlovich has moved up a few places in the UFC women's rankings after a win over Magomed Anakalaev. When determining rankings for UFC fighters, the UFC considers many factors, such as wins and losses, competition quality, and frequency of fights. The latest rankings are listed below.

Pavlovich is a four-time winner of the UFC since she lost her debut to Alistair Overeem back in 2004. Her most notable knockout came against Derrick Lewis, at UFC 277. Lewis was badly hurt and Pavlovich would have lost the fight in the second round.

Jessica Eye climbs eight spots to be the number one woman's flyweight competitor

Jessica Eye, a former title contender has been able take advantage of her drop to flyweight to face a variety of top competitors. Shevchenko was Shevchenko's opponent in UFC 238's comain event. Shevchenko won via a vicious kick to the head. Eye has now won three consecutive fights and moved up eight places in the rankings. She takes on Cynthia Calvillo. Calvillo has struggled with weight at 115 pounds.

Eye has overcome many obstacles on her way to this point. Eye has had many injuries, and her father died young. A blood clot on her knee caused her to miss several fights. She was able to overcome these setbacks and has proved her ability to defeat the top flyweights of the world.
