You may have seen some female golfers wearing very visible clothing if you've ever been to a professional tournament. Paige Spiranac, for example, was known to wear a mini skirt on the course before the dress code was enforced. The LPGA was accused of body-shaming male golfers by criticizing this practice. However, today, the dress code was lifted.

Although Thompson was one of the hottest players in the world in 2015, she has had a rough year in 2021. She had a five-shot lead at the US Women's Open in 2021, but failed to capitalize on it. She won the LGPA Japan Tour and Ladies European Tour. She is currently ranked 9th on the Rolex Player Rankings. She tied for 17th at the Lotte Championship and the ANA inspiration event last spring. Michelle Maguire

Leona Maguire became first Irishwoman on the LPGA Tour to win when she won Florida's Drive On Championship. The 27 year-old finished on 18 and was three strokes behind Lexi Thompson. Maguire started out the season with five birdies and went into the final round tied with Marina Alex. She birdied the 11th, 10th, and 13th holes in order to win the title.

The 2020 season was mostly positive for the Irishwoman, with a few low points in the early stages of the season. She missed the last 16 of the LPGA Match-Play in May, but bounced back to produce her best form during the summer. Maguire attributes her success to a variety of experiences, both positive and negative, from which she has learned. Positive experiences increase confidence. Negative ones can be used as reality checks.
