
Hima Das, an Assam runner, holds the Indian national record in the 400m with a time 50.7 seconds. She is the daughter and farmer of Hima Das. She was encouraged to focus her efforts on sprinting by her high school instructor. She was awarded the Arjuna award by the President of India in 2018 for her accomplishments in sprinting.

PT Usha is one of the most successful female athletes in India. She has won 101 international medals. She is married and is a mother. Usha is a role model and will create a sports academy in her hometown to help young athletes develop their athletic potential.
Usha began her athletic career as a junior at the age of 14 and was a champion at her school in 1974. She went on to win four Gold Medals at the National School Meet, and the National Amateur Meet. She also broke two national records in Nagpur, India, in 1979. After a successful track career, Usha attended Providence College Calicut (now Mercy College Palghat). O. M. Nambiar her athletics coach encouraged her at Providence College. He gave her the opportunity for participation in sports events.

A former World No. Priyanka Goswami, a former World No. 1 women's tennis player is an avid athlete who loves to watch athletics. She was interested in gymnastics, and she ran the 800m as well as the 1500m. However, after consulting with a coach, she switched to running. After completing her training, she began competing in road races. She is the current Indian national record holder for the 10,000m and 20km distances.
Goswami started her athletic journey as a young child. She was intrigued by the bags of the medal winners, which inspired her desire to make a career out of sports. Her first international medal came at the Tokyo Olympics.

Deepika Kumari is an Indian archery coach and former World number one woman's archer. She is a top athlete in India and has represented India at the Olympics 3 times. She reached the quarter-finals of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, and reached the first round in London in 2012. She is a dominant force within Indian archery and has won many awards.
Kumari competes in international competitions ever since she was a teenager. Kumari was already ranked No.1 in the World at 15 years old and had won two Commonwealth Games gold medals. In 2016, she set the world record in women's recurve, and also tied the World No. She is currently the number 1 female archery team. Her success made her a household figure in Indian archery. She was honored with the Arjuna Award and Padma Shri awards by the Government of India.
