The Chicago Sky is an American women's basketball club based in Chicago. The team is a part of the Women's National Basketball Association, and competes within the Eastern Conference. The franchise was established before the 2006 season. It was originally known as the Chicago Mercury. The team is now known as the Chicago Sky.

Drafts by the WNBA
Despite the Chicago Sky being quiet during the WNBA drafts, several local players were chosen as high in the first round. Northwestern guard Veronica Burton was selected as the seventh overall pick by the Dallas Wings. The Dallas Wings selected her seventh overall. She averaged 17.8 minutes, 5.5 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game. She also reached double figures at the Big Ten tournament. The Phoenix Mercury also drafted Maya Dodson, Notre Dame's forward.
Trades
The Sky made some moves this offseason to increase their roster. In exchange for draft picks, they traded away many players. Alaina coates was traded to Minnesota, Kaitlin lou Samuelson was acquired from Dallas and Astou Dour was acquired. Additionally, they traded their 16th selection in the 2021 Draft for a second round pick in 2022.

The Chicago Sky is a professional NBA team located in the Midwest United States. Magellan is the team's uniform sponsor. Home games of the team are broadcasted on WCIU TV and WMEU CD, while some games are televised nationally by ESPN and NBA TV.
Game broadcasts
The Chicago Sky has announced their 2021 game broadcast schedule. The team will broadcast five regular-season games on CW26. Lisa Byington, color analysis by Meghan McKeown and play-by–play from Lisa Byington are some of the highlights. Additionally, five games will air on My Michiana in South Bend, Indiana.
Fan base
The Chicago Sky are proud to have a large fan base who celebrate the team's achievements and work together to make Chicago a better place. Thousands of Sky supporters turned out to celebrate the team's 2015 WNBA championship. The parade shut down downtown and took over Chicago Park. This was a beautiful way to strengthen community spirit.
