The Carlton Woods golf course is a perfect fit for the Chevron Championship, the LPGA's new major championship. The tournament will take place at The Club At Carlton Woods Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. It is part of a five year agreement and will be televised live by NBC Sports.

It also hosted the final edition of the LPGA Tour's Mission Hills tournament in Rancho Miro, California, where Jennifer Kupcho took a final leap into Poppie's Pond for the win.
Carlton Woods has strong junior golf program
Carlton Woods is well-known for its strong junior program. The HP Boys Championship hosted Tiger Woods as well as David Duval and Rickie Fowler. This invitation-only event also raises funds to support grassroots junior golf organizations. The HP Boys Championship has donated more than $44,000 to local charities and schools over the last three years. Last year, the AJGA presented awards to the best media coverage as well as charitable giving.

Louise Suggs is the founder of LPGA
Louise Suggs founded the LPGA, a tour for women that competes in golf's major championships. Suggs along with her two companions helped establish the organization. The rules were established and tournaments organized. They also helped to promote teaching clinics.
In the early 1960s, Suggs played a 72-hole exhibition tournament in West Palm Beach, Florida. Suggs competed against other LPGA/PGA professionals in this tournament.
