The SheBelieves Cup, an international tournament for four-team round robin teams, is the latest initiative in support of the #SheBelieves Campaign, which was launched by US Soccer to inspire young girls. The campaign gained wide attention and expanded its reach since its launch in the lead-up to 2015 Women's World Cup. It has also fostered a special bond between the team, its fans, and sent a powerful message about empowerment.
Visa sponsors the tournament. After the final match, a tournament MVP will also be announced. A committee of former Women's National Team athletes votes for the MVP.
It's a tournament with four teams

New Zealand and Iceland will face each other on Thursday at 5 PM PT on ESPN. The U.S. takes on Iceland on Feb. 20, at noon PST on ABC.

The tournament has four teams: the United States, England, Japan, and Brazil. The USA is ranked #1, while England (and Brazil) are eighth and tenth. Both teams have won one match. The final will determine who will advance to next round. The winner will be decided by total points and goal difference. Also, goals scored will be taken into consideration. If there is no resolution after 90 minutes, the head-tohead results will be used. Each team is allowed six substitutions.
It is held on the West Coast
This year, The SheBelieves Cup takes place in two cities. The tournament was first held in Orlando, Florida in 2014. This year's tournament is the third. It will be held simultaneously in Los Angeles, California and San Diego. It will be held in strict COVID protocol and serve as the beginning of the U.S.'s qualifying season for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. The eight-team Concacaf W Championship will run from July 9 to July 24, and the winners will receive four qualifiers for the World Cup and one automatic spot for the next Olympic Games.
The competition is a great opportunity for young women to break into the national team. The USWNT is up against New Zealand (Iceland), Czech Republic (Czech Republic), and Iceland (all three of which are among the top 24 nations in the world). The tournament has a track record of attracting top-ranked teams, such as Argentina or Germany. However, the USWNT has not been able to lure Canada's Olympic champion in the past. This tournament has a mixed overall record.
