You may have seen some female golfers wearing very visible clothing if you've ever been to a professional tournament. Paige Spiranac is one example. She was known to wear a small skirt on the golf course before the dress codes were enforced. Male golfers were critical of this practice, accusing the LPGA and other golfers of body-shaming women. However, today, the dress code was lifted.

Lexi Thompson

Alexis Noel Thompson plays on America's LPGA Tour. At age 12, she qualified for the U.S. Women's Open. She turned professional at age 15. She has been qualified for numerous other major championships. Her June 2016 victory in the LPGA was her first.

At the age of twelve, she was the youngest woman to ever play in the US Women's Open. She was just sixteen when she became the youngest LPGA winning player and won her first tournament. She is a world-renowned athlete and has won numerous LPGA tournaments at age 20. She practices three hours a day, plays 18 holes, has lunch and trains with a trainer. Thompson is also a volunteer for charities like the Wounded Warrior Project.

Thompson was one world's most popular players in 2015. She has had a poor year in 2021. In 2021, she held a lead of five shots at the US Women's Open but didn't capitalize. She won the LGPA Japan Tour and Ladies European Tour. She is currently ranked 9th among the Rolex Player Rankings. Last spring, she was 17th in both the Lotte Championship as well as the ANA Inspiration. She also missed a chance to win her second major tournament at the Avnet LPGA Classic.

Michelle Maguire

Leona Maguire became first Irishwoman on the LPGA Tour to win when she won Florida's Drive On Championship. The 27-year old finished at -18, three strokes better than Lexi Thompson. Maguire started the season with five birdies. In the final round, she tied Marina Alex. But she birdied the 10th, 11th, and 13th holes to claim the title.

The 2020 season was mostly positive, though there were some lows in the early stages. She missed the LPGA Match-Play 16 in May, but she bounced back and was at her best throughout the summer. Maguire believes that she owes her success to the many lessons learned from both bad and good experiences. Positive experiences can build confidence. Negative experiences are a reality check.

Maguire was also a member of the 2017-18 WGCA All-American Scholars. This is an honorable award given to student athletes who have shown academic and athletic excellence. Maguire was a captain, and the team MVP. She also broke Lydia Ko's record for most consecutive weeks at the top in the World Amateur rankings. She was also named honorary recipient of the ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship, which recognizes exceptional student-athletes and their intention to earn a graduate degree.
