Tina Estrada (San Jose State women's soccer coach) is on a roll. This article will discuss Estrada's career and the Spartans recent success. We also touch on the university's mental health resources for student-athletes.

Estrada's success

Estrada, who became assistant coach of the women's soccer program at San Jose State in 2017, has a similar pedigree to Hanson. She was an All American college soccer player. Estrada played in four NCAA tournaments and was an all-WCC forward at Santa Clara. In 2015, she was named NSCAA Assistant coach of the year.

Estrada is a native of Fremont, Calif., but now lives in Walnut Creek, Calif. She has won the Mountain West Tournament twice and was named National Assistant Coach of the Year. She has coached the Spartans in two NCAA Tournaments and five consecutive conference tournaments.

SJSU's recent success

The recent success of SJSU women’s football has been due to many players. Most notably, Dorthe Hoppius was named the team's MVP, but will not return to the Spartans for the 2018 season. Jamilecxth Becerra, a sophomore, was also named Mountain West Newcomer-of-the Year. She scored seven goals, five of which were game-winning. Darriell F. Franklin was named MW defensive play of the Year and made the All-MW team.

New facilities have also contributed to the Spartans' success. Two recent additions to campus are the Spartan Baseball Practice Facility (Spartan Beach) and Spartan Baseball Practice Facility (Spartan Baseball Practice Facility). The Spartans will also open next year their Spartan Athletics Center.

Tina Estrada's career

Estrada has been the interim head coach for the San Jose State women’s soccer team over the past two-months. She has been a Spartans assistant for four years and was most recently an Associate Head Coach. Lauren Hanson had resigned eight seasons ago. Lauren Hanson was the last person to be named to this position. Hanson was the winningest school coach in history.

Estrada was an outstanding player at Santa Clara University and has been a great assistant and associate head coach for several programs. She is now poised to be one of the top young coaches in Division 1 women's soccer. Estrada is highly communicative and has excellent leadership abilities.
